  • Actively contribute and participate with research group during meetings

  • Led a research group meeting on mental health practices in order to encourage open, honest communication about work-life balances

  • Perform exploratory searches to develop a systematic review on culturally responsive teaching in STEM education

  • Conduct analysis on qualitative data to create a codebook describing senior students’ feedback on their first-year engineering experience

 

Research Technician – National Science Foundation-Improving Undergraduate STEM Education project Developing Instructional Teams for Evidence-Based Instruction in Large Collaborative Learning Environments, University of Arizona

March 2018 – July 2019

 

Developed a self-led course for Instructional Managers, and assisted in classroom observations, creation of a website to disseminate information, and professional development.

 

Duties:

  • Observed team interactions in STEM classrooms to understand challenges in building teams and to provide feedback to the project and those observed

  • Designed and created a curriculum that includes modules, deliverables, learning objectives, and guiding prompts

  • Developed a website that presents research, training materials, and information in a clear, organized, accessible way

  • Met with research team, instructors, various teams, students, and others involved in collaborative spaces

  • Conducted analysis on qualitative data to create a narrative about a team’s progress

  • Observed Professional Development Community meetings to perceive Faculty understanding and growth regarding task, team, and formative assessment
